Things are returning to normal across the province this morning after yesterday’s storm that brought a mixed bag of precipitation.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Jean Marc Couturier says Greater Moncton says 21 centimetres of snow, and about 30 millimetres of water equivalent to the ice pellets and freezing rain.
But we’re still unsure whether or not all of the snow is going to stick around until Christmas.
He says, “Friday, that’s the next system that is going to spread precipitation under the form of rain across the area, and we’re looking at a daytime high of 11 degrees, so there will be a fair amount of melting.”
Bathurst was blanketed with 58 centimetres of snow in yesterday’s storm.
Thousands are still in the dark across the province due to power outages, with the majority affected in the Fredericton area.
According to the NB Power website, it could be late tonight or even tomorrow before the lights are back on.
