NB Power Makes Preparations In Advance Of Today’s Storm

In advance of today’s storm, NB Power took steps to improve response times.

Spokesperson Meghan Gerrish says they moved crews and private contractors through the province to ensure they are ready for any potential problems.

She says this storm will pose particular challenges, “In a case like this, it’s tricky because there is different weather in every part of the province. There isn’t one area that is expected to get it worse that another, and we can’t predict that.”

Gerrish says storms with heavy wet snow, ice rain and ice pellets are the hardest on power lines.

They’re currently dealing with thousands of outages across the province with the majority in St. Stephen and Fredericton.
