Today marks World AIDS Day and New Brunswick based AIDS organizations are participating in an initiative called the Red Scarf Campaign.
Debby Warren is the Executive Director of AIDS Moncton.
“The red scarf represents the traditional red ribbon, as we all know the first ribbon of charities was the red ribbon founded in New York City and it’s about acknowledging people living with HIV and AIDS and support of them and their families,” says Warren.
She says red scarves will be visible around town, and should be picked up and worn to show support for the almost 72-thousand Canadians struggling with AIDS and HIV.
