Government officials from all levels are invited to visit their local Boys and Girls clubs today in honour of National Child Day.
Lynda Carey is the Executive Director of the Riverview Boys and Girls Club.
She says it encourages the treatment of children with dignity and respect.
“And us as a society doing everything that we can to let these children have voices, to protect them from harm, and to let them be involved in their own development,” says Carey.
Carey says recently elected officials in all levels of government have been more available and involved with youth in their communities.
The Riverview club is hosting an open house this afternoon.
