A local doctor is running in support of the Alzheimers Society.
Dr. Chris Hawkes, who is an Anesthesiologist at the Moncton Hospital, is running 50 kilometres around his neighbourhood.
He says it’s in honour of his father Rusty who died in 2011 after a long struggle with the disease.
His goal was $4000, but he has already surpassed that.
Hawkes run starts at 7am tomorrow morning. He’ll run six laps of an eight kilometre route near his Kingswood Park home. The route will be marked with purple balloons. For the remaining two kilometres, others are encouraged to run with him, to pass the finish line together.
