Don’t Sweep Leaves Into the Street!

Raking the fall leaves has become a reality after last week’s strong winds brought most of them down.

Although it can become a chore, the City of Moncton is reminding residents to avoid sweeping those fall leaves into the streets.

Bylaw T-410 is in place which prohibits such behaviour.

Leaves can often clog catch basins and storm sewers and create slick street conditions for drivers.

City officials say if you spot any drainage troubles in your neighbourhood, call the city of Moncton’s 24-7 dispatch line at 859-2643.
