For the fourth consecutive month, there was little change with unemployment with the creation of 12 thousand new net jobs.
The unemployment rate rose slightly to 7.1% because more people were out looking for work.
15 hundred new jobs were added in New Brunswick wwhich lowered unemployment from 10.1 to 8.8 per cent.
The Saint John unemployment rate also fell from 8.7 to 8.5 per cent and in Moncton, it’s down to 6.9 per cent from 7.6 per cent in August.
Employment increased among people aged 55 and older last month but as for the other age groups, there was little change.
