Moncton City Council Hires Independent Certifier To Oversee Downtown Centre Construction

At a special Moncton City Council meeting today, Councillors approved a contract to get an independent certifier to oversee the downtown centre project.

WTP Property Consultants was hired at a cost of $170,630.

City Manager Jacques Dube says this is standard practice for projects of this size and WTP is one of the most knowledgeable companies of its kind.

“People that are on that team have deep experience in this area, with similar sized projects and even much larger projects,” says Dube. “Both Project Co, Bird and the City are very confident that this will be in our best interests going forward.

An independent certifier makes sure the invoices match what is actually happening on the ground at the construction site.
