Still no plea after another brief court appearance by Canaport LNG, Irving Canaport and Respol following the death of 7500 birds two years ago.
In foggy conditions the birds flew directly into a bright gas flare at the Canaport LNG terminal in Saint John in September of 2013.
The companies are facing chrages under the Migratory Birds Convention Act and the Species at Risk Act.
The maximum fine on each of the three charges is a million dollars.
Justice Anne Jeffries was informed in court this morning that the companies are not ready to plea.
Crown lawyer Jillian Jordan told the court there is a reasonable chance of resolution.
Pleas are expected at the next appearance scheduled for November 5th at 130pm.
