NB Tree Planters Set Guinness World Record

A team of tree planters from J.D. Irving in Southern New Brunswick has officially helped set a Guinness World Record

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative challenged teams in 29 communities across North America.

JDI spokesperson Jason Killam says 100 people planted 53,000 trees in just one hour outside Sussex earlier this summer.

Killam says his team are top-notch, athletic tree planters who went through intense warm-ups and stretching before taking up the challenge.

The previous record was set in India back in 2012 when 100 people planted 42,000 trees in one hour.
