Gallant Gov’t Supports Expanding Moncton Call Centre

An expanding Moncton call centre on Edinburgh Drive is receiving financial support from the provincial government.

Nordia is creating 275 jobs over the next three years with a provincial payroll rebate of more than $853,000.

Although the company is growing, Premier Brian Gallant says attracting industry is a competitive business.

“When we are trying to attract businesses to invest here, to start up here, to grow here and create jobs here, we are competing with other jurisdictions across the country, across North America and across the world. So we have to put that in context,” says Gallant.

By the end of this year, Nordia expects to have 800 employees in Moncton including more than 70 employees from the Sykes call centre in Riverview which will close in a few months.

A similar announcement is expected from the Gallant government at the Nordia call centre in Saint John on Friday.
