Stephen Harper Makes A Campaign Stop At Irving Oil Refinery

A sea of blue inside a tent at the Irving Oil Refinery in Saint John with federal Conservative leader Stephen Harper making a campaign stop and speaking, among other things, about the benefits the Energy East pipeline would bring forward.

Harper says that if the project goes ahead it will do something that should’ve been done a long time ago – “strengthen Canada’s economy, create thousands of jobs by creating a national energy market, decreasing our dependency on foreign oil and no place will benefit from this as much as this great province of New Brunswick.”

Harper also saying neither the NDP or the Liberals will give support to the project.

Some people in the very enthusiastic audience holding handmade signs including one saying “Harper Keeps Canada Safe.”

Harper did not take any questions from the media.
