Dennis Oland Pleads Not Guilty To Second Degree Murder

In a makeshift courtroom located on the Harbour Station rink, Dennis Oland pleading not guilty to second degree murder in the 2011 death of his father, Richard Oland.

The start of jury selection for the second degree murder trial taking place in the city sports arena with a pool of more than a thousand potential jurors sitting in the stands. That pool will be divided into eight groups of 142 that will be brought into the courthouse over four days.

Mr. Justice Jack Walsh telling the jurors they understand that for many of them this is an unnerving experience and for some of them just downright inconvenient. However, he says that the process cannot be streamlined any more given the size.
