Emergency Officials Resume Search For Missing Boy

Another tragic weekend on the water on the South Shore.

RCMP spent the night scouring the banks of the LaHave River after a 12 year-old boy went missing while swimming near Conquerall Bank in Lunenburg county.

The boy was swimming with three other people when he went under the water and never returned to the surface.

It happened Sunday around 1:00 p.m.

A large scale search took place for eight hours before it was scaled back.

It involved local fire crews, Canadian Coast Guard and members of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax.

The search is resuming this morning.

Meantime, a 65 year-old Shelburne county man was killed when his canoe flipped over Friday afternoon in Clyde River.

His body was discovered early Saturday morning.

The death is not suspicious.
