Premier Brian Gallant Urges Patience For 10-Year Education Plan

While Premier Brian Gallant was in Moncton yesterday, he spoke about the importance of the Liberal 10 year education plan.

While he did not specify the date the plan would be released, he did say the team of experts was working hard and it would be released when it was ready.

Gallant says the experts will tell them where they should be investing to get the results we need.

“I think everybody admits the status quo is not where we want to go,” says Gallant. “This has led us to not have the literacy rates we want, or the test scores we would like in important and crucial subjects.”

Gallant says while they are eager to get the plan in motion, the team shouldn’t be rushed.

“We’re gonna give them the time to make sure they have the opportunity to really develop a plan that’s going to help us but of course we’re very anxious to have this plan implement as education is our priority within our job creation and economic growth plan,” says Gallant.

He made these comments at a luncheon hosted by the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce on August 17th.
