Moncton City Council will convene for a special public meeting later today which will put the proposed downtown centre in the spotlight.
The deadline to meet the financial and legal close of the project is September 30th.
Council will examine the funding plan for the centre and the long term financial plan for the city.
The Municipal Capital Borrowing Board recently approved the city’s application to borrow $95.4 million although the net amount the city needs is about $39 million dollars.
Today’s special meeting begins at 4 p.m. at Moncton City Hall.
