Portable Oil Rigs To Be Built In Dieppe

A Calgary-based company is setting up in Dieppe for a pilot project to build portable oil rigs and plans to create up to 30 new jobs in the process.

Robin Fournier is the president of Advanced Helicore and originally from Sussex.

Fournier says he knows first-hand this region has a good work force and adds it is cheaper to build the oil rigs here than it is in Alberta.

The jobs will require skills in hydraulics, steel work and drilling.

The helicopter-portable oil rig called a “Rhino” cuts down time for set up and tear down and eliminates the need to build access roads to a drilling site.

The Gallant government is providing a $250,000 forgivable loan to help support job creation.
