More than 500 people gathered at Casino NB this morning to recognize and celebrate all the hard work volunteers do in our community.
The theme for this years volunteer recognition breakfast was “The Ripple Effect” according to the Executive Director of the Volunteer centre for Southeastern New Brunswick.
Annette Vautour says volunteering has a far reaching impact in our communities.
More than two billion hours are volunteered by Canadians each year.
Vautour says volunteering makes communities healthier, more inclusive and more just.
Various groups took the time to thank those who have volunteered and helped their organizations.
That included RCMP Superintendent Paul Beauchamp who offered his thanks to those who helped during the tragic events on June 4th of last year.
He says many people in Moncton opened their homes, hospitality and support, and for that, the RCMP are very grateful.
