U de M Approves Its Budget For 2015-2016

The Universite de Moncton has approved its 2015-2016 budget, and is forecasting a deficit of over $1 million.

Revenues are forecasted at over $114 million dollars, that’s down $1.6 million from last year. The university says it is largely due to a tuition freeze and a decline in registrations. Expenditures in this budget are over $115 million.

President and Vice Chancellor Raymond Theberge expects the institution could see a drop in the number of its students due to a decreasing number of Francophone students in the school system and also because of increased competition from English language universities in the country.

U de M will also freeze the salaries of its senior managers and administrators effective May 1st.
