A robbery at the Hillsborough youth drop in centre left many devastated, but their spirits have been quickly lifted.
Someone broke into the centre last week, and stole a canteen box that contained over $400. That money was raised by the kids for a weekend camping trip in August.
Executive Director Lynda Carey says since then, they’ve seen donations pouring in from parents, kids and others across the region, and they are close to recouping the entire amount.
Close to 30 kids use the Hillsborough drop in centre every day. It is is operated by the Riverview Boys and Girls Club.
Donations can be made via the Riverview club, be sure to let them know it is for the Hillsborough kids.
