Parents with children at Ecole Champlain are being rewarded for their years of patience.
Construction of a long awaited new facility for the school is right on track according to the Chair of the Parent School Support Committee.
Stephanie Hopper says she recently received an update and construction will begin in may as expected.
“They are expected to start construction in the spring here for opening in September 2016 at the new school,” says Hopper.
She says there was some uncertainty as to whether or not the school would be ready for September 2016, but everything is now on track.
The current school is located in an industrial zone and that has raised concerns for many years.
On numerous occasions, students have been sent home in the middle of the day due to strange odours in the classrooms.
The new school will be built in the Grove Hamlet subdivision, located off Shediac Road.
