The Moncton man who robbed a bank in December is heading to jail.
54 year old Leslie Walter DeYoung was in Moncton court today for his sentencing hearing after pleading guilty to one charge of robbery, and one of fleeing from police.
DeYoung faces 6 yrs in jail, less time served for the robbery charge, and 6 months to be served afterwards for his fleeing from police charge.
On top of jail time, DeYoung is banned from owning or possessing a firearm for 10 years, and banned from driving for 3 years.
He must also submit a sample to the National DNA Bank.
DeYoung robbed the Caisse Populaire on Churchill street in December using threats of violence, and fled in a vehicle the next day when officers tried to arrest him.
