A Moncton man who robbed a bank at the end of last year is facing a lengthy prison sentence.
54 year old Leslie Walter DeYoung already pleaded guilty to two offences, and was in Court today for a sentencing hearing.
The Crown prosecutor is asking for 6 years for the robbery, and 1 additional year for fleeing from police.
The Defence lawyer countered with five years, saying too long a sentence will destroy any chance of rehabilitation.
DeYoung pleaded guilty to stealing $3,175 from the Caisse Populaire at 26 Churchill Street using threats of violence and fleeing police the next day when they tried to stop him in a car.
The judge adjourned the decision until March 4th.
