A 38 year old man wanted by Fredericton police was caught near Nackawic.
Members of the Major Crime Team, Emergency Response Team, and Police Dog Team were watching an area in Nackawic, where Rene Michael Gerard was believed to be hiding.
Just after 2pm today he tried to take off from a home and after a brief foot chase, officers were able to catch him without incident.
Gerard is facing several charges including forcible confinement, sexual assault, assault, uttering threats relating to an incident last Wednesday.
