Codiac RCMP shut down a portion of downtown Moncton this morning.
Sergeant Harry Brown says officers responded to a call where a person needed medical attention.
Brown says at first report, the person was considered to be armed so officers took certain precautions including diverting traffic and drawing weapons.
However, he adds things were sorted out relatively quickly once officers arrived on scene.
“The person was cooperative and subsequently taken to the hospital to be seen by a doctor,” says Brown.
Brown described the events this morning as a medical call, and explains officers were taking extra precautions to be safe.
