Anglophone East School District Prepared For Snow Days

It’s the eighth snow day of the school year.

Many parents are starting to wonder how those days will be made up.

Superintendent for Anglophone East Gregg Ingersoll says, it’s not unusual for storms to happen in this part of the country, and teachers prepare themselves and are able to adjust the curriculum accordingly depending on how many snow days they have.

Ingersoll says, “The snow days will not be made up at the end of the year. The school model we use in New Brunswick, doesn’t include a provision to lengthen the term if they have snow days. It’s part of a contracted item with the New Brunswick Teachers Federation that they work 195 days, so anything beyond that would have to be negotiated.”

During the 2013-2014 school year, Anglophone East had 11 snow days.
