New Moncton High, A State-Of-The-Art Facility

Moncton High students are settling into their new home very well.

It was a whole new beginning for them, as they attended their first day in a brand new facility.

Principal BeLong says it has everything from performing arts, arts, trades, six science labs, an exceptional math department, two gymnasiums, and even a workout room equipped with treadmills.

The floors are divided up by subject. There are trades on the first floor, English and humanities on the second floor, and then math and sciences on the third floor.

The school was originally supposed to open in 2013, but due to delays in construction and other issues. The start date was pushed back until today.

The new Moncton High is located in the Royal Oaks neighbourhood off Elmwood Drive.

There has been much controversy surrounding the new location for the school. It replaces the aging Moncton High on Church Street, built in 1935. Parents rallied to try and keep Moncton High in the downtown.
