Mayor George Leblanc has announced his desire to seek the Liberal nomination for the riding of Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe in the next federal election.
Leblanc made the announcement in a statement yesterday.
He says over the past few months, he has been encouraged by several people to run.
He is the second person to seek the Liberal nomination.
Ginette Petitpas Taylor declared her desire to run earlier this month.
The current MP for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe is Robert Goguen.
The next federal election will be held in October.
