The Atlantic Premiers announced a new partnership called the Red Tape Reduction Partnership to help create a more competitive economic environment.
This partnership came out of the 25th Council of Atlantic Premiers yesterday in St John’s, Newfoundland.
The partnership is designed to streamline business regulations across the region to help increase job creation and economic growth.
The Premiers also announced a three year continuation of the Atlantic Workforce Partnership which will coordinate apprenticeship certification in 10 trades as well as increase efforts to attract and maintain immigrants.
They also agreed to cooperate on regional energy projects like the Energy East Pipeline, and the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project saying responsible development of energy resources will ensure continued growth and prosperity for Atlantic Canadians.
