A New Brunswicker has died as a result of complications from the flu.
A public health official at a Fredericton nursing home confirmed that one person died over the past few days.
A name has not been released.
As of January 3rd, New Brunswick had 40 confirmed cases of influenza, 20 of those individuals had to be hospitalized.
Pharmacist Tammy Davis Gallant says, “Seniors, adults and children with chronic health conditions, pregnant women, aboriginals and members of the public who are looking after sick people or children.”
We are about halfway into the flu season, with about the same number of cases reported in the province as last year.
Symptoms include severe aches and pains, fever, chills, dry cough, and feeling rotten overall.
