Fracking Moratorium Sends “A Terrible Signal” To Rest of Canada

Given the grim state of the provincial economy, some would say the Gallant government can’t afford to turn down a potential moneymaker like shale gas exploration.

Kevin Lacey of the Canadian Taxpayer’s Federation says the New Brunswick government is sending the wrong message with a fracking moratorium.

Lacey tells us it sends a terrible signal to the rest of Canada and to the world that New Brunswick is not open for business which is the exact opposite message that the province needs to send in 2015.

He says for cities like Saint John, energy is the future and with a moratorium, the province is telling the industry they are not welcome.
