Salvation Army Kettle Campaign Surpasses Goal in Maritimes

Another successful year for the Salvation Army Kettle campaign, thanks to the generosity of Maritimers.

Over 1.7 million dollars was raised in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, surpassing last year’s total.

Spokesperson Daniel Bonner says some last minute donations from New Brunswickers helped to raise the individual totals.

He says, “In Moncton, over $165, 000 was raised. That’s an increase of around $15, 000 over last year. In Saint John, almost $125, 000 was brought in, that’s roughly $10, 000 more than 2013.

Kettle campaign donations are used locally to help support the Salvation Army Christmas campaign, providing gifts to those families in need, and the remainder stays in the community for the other 364 days of the year.
