Roadwork in Dieppe in 2015 will be a priority, that according to the Mayor of Dieppe.
Mayor Yvon Lapierre is optimistic that motorists will see some road improvements next year to fix some of the trouble spots throughout the City.
He says, “Preparatory work on Champlain Street is going to take place in 2015, and we hope that the marsh issue, we will be able to resolve in 2015 if our partners come to the table.”
Acadie Avenue flooded on several occasions in 2014, but Lapierre says it is a provincial highway and that means they have to wait for the province to agree to pay its share of the repairs. The road was built on marshland, and every time asphalt is added, it keeps sinking.
