More Snow, Rain and Freezing Rain On the Way To Southeast New Brunswick

Here we go again.

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick are currently under Snowfall and Rainfall warnings.

Meteorologist for Environment Canada Ian Khan says it’s due to a low pressure system that will cross the Maritimes later today.

He says, “The precipitation, it looks as though it will start as a brief period of freezing rain this evening and then will change to heavier precipitation. The boundary between the rain and snow, it is near the Moncton area, so if things shift one way or another, you could see a bit more of it could be rain, or snow depending on exactly what part of Southeast New Brunswick you are in.”

For Moncton and areas to the Northwest, about 15 centimetres of snow is expected, and about 20 to 30 millimetres of rain for areas southeast of Moncton.

This system is expected to wrap up tomorrow morning.

The winter season won’t officially arrive until Sunday night.
