Shediac Town Council is expected to hear more opposition tonight on a proposed mega-campground for the community.
During a public hearing on rezoning for the project last week, 17 letters of objection were read and 19 others made presentations to council citing concerns about traffic congestion, overcrowding and eliminating an important green space.
The proposed 700 site campground would be built between Pointe du Chene Road and Parlee Beach Road.
The land is owned by the Shediac Parish of the Anglican Church which intends to lease the land to a group of investors.
Shediac-Cap Pele MLA Victor Boudreau had been one of them but he has since put his holdings in the project in a blind trust.
