Another information session is planned for 6:30 tonight to talk about military homes in Acadia Park.
There’s still some uncertainty as to exactly what will become of these homes.
The 74 housing units, along with two pieces of land and a community building are sitting empty, for the most part, and have been that way for quite some time.
The Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada is trying to figure out how the homes can be sold off.
Residents in the West end neighbourhood are concerned that selling the homes will drive down the value of other properties in the neighbourhood.
Tonight’s meeting is expected to attract a lot of interest. Roughly 100 showed up to the last meeting to discuss the issue.
Earlier this year, Employment and Social Development has hoped to use the homes in a project that would help the homeless, but that request was later withdrawn.
