17th Annual Turkey Drive Officially Underway

Turkeys have begun running for cover in Greater Moncton. The annual Sue Stultz and Moncton Firefighters turkey drive is officially underway.

It launched this morning at Bessborough School. This year’s goal is 3865 turkey donations by December 12th.

Sue Stultz is known as the Turkey Lady has been behind the drive since the beginning. She says this ensures there is a bird on the tables of all residents in Southeastern New Brunswick at Christmas time.

She says, “One turkey feeds at least four people in a family. It feeds them for more than one meal, so it’s not just a turkey, it is feeding a family not only at Christmas time, but for days afterwards.”

Turkeys can be dropped off at the Moncton Fire Station on St. George Street..or you can make a donation through Food Depot Alimentaire towards the purchase of a turkey..
