Codiac RCMP say a teenage girl has been charged with assault with a weapon following a fight outside Champlain Mall Tuesday night.
The girl can’t be named because she is under 18 but told a judge in youth court today that she acted in self-defence.
The girl will appear in court for a bail hearing tomorrow.
Police say another young woman was cut in the hand with a knife during the fight outside a mall entrance.
Four young people between the ages of 17 and 20 were involved and police say they all knew each other.
