NB Right To Life Denouncing Abortion Changes

New Brunswick is out of step with the United Nations Convention on the rights of the child. That reaction from Peter Ryan of NB Right to Life on the abortion changes announced by Premier Brian Gallant.

Beginning January 1st, women in the province will no longer have to get the approval of two doctors before having the procedure. It will also no longer have to be done by a specialist and will be covered like any other insured medical service.

Ryan says the changes amount to declaring open season on children in the womb. He predicts the number of abortions each year will rise from a thousand to two thousand.

Provincial NDP leader Dominic Cardy, on the other hand, has taken to social media to support the changes.
