The price of gas is going down but the same can’t be said for the price of food.
Stats Canada reports gas prices fell 4 per cent last month compared to September. On the other hand, food prices rose by 3.1 per cent last month, mainly because of continuing increases in the price of meats with double digit price increases in the past year for bacon, prime rib, stewing beef, steak and pork chops.
Pork and beef supplies are expected to level off but not until the middle of next year. Until then, you can expect to pay ever higher prices.
