Power outages plagued residents across the province last year, after New Brunswick was hit with several of the worst ice and snow storms in recent history but NB Power wants to ensure we don’t face the same difficulties this year..
Spokesperson Meghan Garrish says they continue to review some of the extreme events they responded to last year.
“We all know we had a rough winter last year… a rough year altogether. We are continuing to learn from our experiencees. So NB Power is improving and investing in our grid so that our infrastructure can withstand the new severe weather reality that we live in today,” notes Garrish.
November 17th to the 21st has been proclaimed as “storm preparedness week”.
Garrish says they’ll be working with customers to show them how they are working differently to respond to these extreme weather events and to ensure New Brunswickers are ready for potential power outages as well.
