Old Man Winter is on his way and you should be getting your vehicle prepared for the snowy season ahead.
Gary Howard of the Canadian Automobile Association tells us now is a good time to go get your winter tires put on your vehicle. Howard says while all-season tires have great tread the winter tires are more efficient in terms of removing snow from the actual tire and have much better traction.
He says it’s important not to mix and match types of tires because that can actually can be more dangerous than having one set. He likens it to going outside with a boot on one foot and a slipper on the other.
He also reminds drivers that tire pressure changes with outside temperatures so you should make sure you are checking your tire pressure on a regular basis.
