The Petitcodiac Food Bank will be open for business in their new building on December 1st, more than a year after a fire tore through their previous facility.
Manager Vicky Crossman says the new building is all on one floor, increasing accessibility and will feature walk in coolers for the first time.
She says the community support is overwhelming, “Whether they’ve been volunteering to help us get back to our old location after the fire, or by helping us get into the new location by painting or donating food. It has been the schools, and the churches, and the community groups as well as individuals, they have just been unbelievable.”
Crossman says they will be moving the week of November 24th, and invites everyone to come visit them at 5 Mill Road once they are set up.
