Changes are coming to the garbage collection schedule in the City of Moncton.
Starting November 15th, the city will be moving from the current five nights, two days schedule, to a three nights, four days schedule which will impact about one-third of all households.
Public Works Director Don Morehouse says, “Presently, they have some days that are very heavy for them to collect, while others a little bit lighter. So we are trying to make things a little bit lighter for the collectors.”
Households which are affected by the garbage collection changes will be receiving a letter in their next water bill.
Apartments, condos, mini-home parks and commercial buildings will not be impacted since private collectors pick up their trash.
