MADD Canada Launches National Project Red Ribbon Campaign

Project Red Ribbon is in its 27th year.

MADD Canada, Saint John police, RCMP and others all on hand at Peel Plaza for the national launch of the campaign aimed at reducing impaired driving over the holidays.

National MADD Canada President Angeliki Souranis’s son Craig was killed after he was involved a crash where the driver was impaired and he was a passenger.

Souranis says they need to drive home the message that impaired driving can be prevented if everyone makes good, responsible, safe choices.

The Project Red Ribbon campaign runs until January 5th and MADD chapters along with community leaders aim to distribute millions of red ribbons for Canadians to tie on the vehicles, keychains, purses, backpacks and luggage.
