A longtime city councillor in Fredericton has passed away after a battle with cancer.
David Kelly was first elected to city council in 1999 and was serving his fifth term.
He had an inoperable brain tumour.
Kelly being described as a warrior for the city’s disadvantaged by fellow councillor Mike O’Brien.
A book of condolences will be available at Fredericton city hall until Friday.
