“Meaning Of Home” Essay Contest Benefits Habitat For Humanity

Students in grades 4, 5 and 6, from across the country are being asked to write an essay about what home means to them.

Habitat for Humanity and Genworth Canada have teamed up for the “Meaning of Home” Contest.

Community Relations Leader for Genworth Anita Booth says writing this essay helps the children learn more about giving back, “We feel that this gets them thinking about what they have, while learning about the difficulties that others face, whether it is homelessness or the inability to afford a home.”

The top prize is a $60, 000 grant that will be given to a Habitat affiliate of the winners choice, and there are also 5 runner-up prizes, of $5000 thousand dollars in donations, that also go to a Habitat for humanity of the child’s choice.

The deadline to submit your essay is November 10th.
