The Regional Planning On Going 100% Smoke-Free

New Brunswick’s Horizon Health Network is looking for feedback on a pilot project to turn the Saint John Regional Hospital into a completely smoke-free campus.

The network’s Vice-President of Quality and Patient Centered Care Margaret Melanson tells right now the hospital has a designated smoking area near the back of the building.

We have had very mixed results with the designated smoking area such as reduced compliance and other concerns from members of the public, staff and patients.

There is what’s called a safe smoke-free environment policy at all Horizon facilities in the province.
