Laboratory Explosion At UNB Fredericton Campus Sends Two To Hospital

An explosion at a laboratory on the UNB Fredericton campus sending two people to hospital with minor injuries.

Alycia Morehouse of the Fredericton Police tells us she can’t confirm whether or not they are students.

Crews with the Fredericton Fire department inside the Enterprise building at the university, which has been evacuated, surveying the damage and beginning cleanup. Morehouse says the explosion was contained to one room.

The cause of the explosion, which happened just after 9 this morning, is currently under investigation. Morehouse says all the activities on campus are still ongoing and haven’t been impacted by the incident.
