Kids Help Phone Seeks NB Volunteers

Young people from across New Brunswick are reaching out to Kids Help Phone every day for professional support and information.

There are more than 132,000 young people ages 5 to 20 in New Brunswick alone according to Stats Canada.

Director for the Kids Help Line in the Atlantic Region, Shelley Richardson tells us the organization is looking to establish a new volunteer committee in Moncton.

This committee will help to give a local flair to the “Walk So Kids Can Talk” event in Moncton, presented by BMO, and held in over 25 communities across Canada.

Calls from New Brunswick represent 2.6% of all calls to Kids Help Phone which means that approximately 15 kids from the province called the phone service each day in 2013.
